Conveyancing is the process of transferring your name on or off a certificate of title. It involves corresponding and dealing with many authorities like the State Revenue Office, Land Victoria, Council and Water authorities and Banks on behalf of Clients.

Yes. A Conveyancer is required for all sale and purchases of property in order to add or remove your name on the certificate of title.

What is the difference between a Conveyancer and a Solicitor?

A Purchaser's caveat registers your legal interest on the certificate of title before settlement occurs. This ensures the Vendor cannot re-sell the property again and secures your purchase until the day of settlement. This Caveat is then automatically withdrawn from the title once settlement occurs.

A Conveyancer is someone licensed specifically to handle title transfers, however does not conduct any other legal work.  A Solicitor is a licensed legal professional who, at a more premium price, can offer a full range of legal services including being able to handle title transfers.

Unfortunately, we are unable to complete conveyancing transactions outside of Victoria however we have colleagues in each State and Territory that we can recommend to provide an excellent service.

Yes. Definitely get the Contract reviewed prior to making an offer. There may be some hidden conditions that you have missed that could be costly to you. We offer free Contract reviews on an unlimited amount of Contracts and we like to get our advice back within the day.
